The rated voltage characteristics of disposable 1.5V batteries are directly determined by their chemical system. These batteries typically utilize a zinc-manganese redox reaction, with manganese dioxide as the positive electrode material and zinc as the negative electrode material, and an alkaline or neutral electrolyte. During discharge, zinc is oxidized to release electrons, while manganese dioxide is reduced to accept electrons, resulting in a stable 1.5V output voltage. This voltage plateau remains relatively stable throughout the battery's lifecycle, only gradually decreasing as the active material nears depletion.

The 1.5V rated voltage makes it an ideal choice for many low-power devices. This voltage closely matches the operating range of common electronic components, such as remote controls, flashlights, and clocks, allowing direct use without the need for additional voltage regulation circuitry. This compatibility not only simplifies device design and reduces manufacturing costs, but also ensures efficient battery energy utilization.

Voltage stability is affected by the battery's internal structural design. Disposable 1.5V batteries maintain a narrow voltage fluctuation during discharge by optimizing the ratio of positive and negative electrode materials, electrolyte concentration, and separator performance. This stability is crucial for devices that require continuous power, such as medical instruments or sensors, to avoid performance abnormalities or data errors caused by voltage fluctuations.

Voltage drop is an inevitable physical phenomenon as the battery discharges. As the battery nears the end of its life, the voltage gradually decreases from 1.5V to the cut-off voltage, at which point the battery can no longer provide sufficient energy to power the device. Users can determine the remaining battery charge by observing the device's operating status or using a voltage test tool, allowing them to replace the battery promptly to avoid interruptions in device operation.
